L2 DealerThe L2 Dealer platform is designed for professional traders who demand Direct Market Access. The technology was developed for our professional clients, who wanted to combine the advantages of CFD trading with the transparency and sophistication of Direct Market Access. How it worksL2 links client orders directly to an order with the underlying exchange, thereby enabling the shrewd trader to save market spread, use the order book for information, and work larger, more complex orders. A full suite of non-equity products is also available, providing traders with one system for all their needs. As well as equities on many international exchanges, there are FX, futures, options, indices and even Binary Options. L2 is the system that IG Markets' own equity traders use for their hedging, and is explicitly modelled on the features and standards of trading room systems. Flexible tradingL2 is a downloadable, customisable application. Traders can select the range of products they wish to look at by choosing, for example, an equities-only, FX-only, or futures-only view, or one which combines all products. Operating as a multi-window product, L2 also provides great flexibility. To emphasise its role as a professional-level trading tool, L2 Dealer comes unbranded. It is more complex than the typical platform used by retail investors, and normally commands higher exchange fees as the quantity of information coming from the underlying exchanges is much greater. As such, it is not normally distributed to ordinary investors in large numbers, instead being used by money managers, advisory brokers and full-time professional traders. Anyone already familiar with direct market trading will demand nothing less than a DMA product like L2. |
